CityKids Recap

2008 CityKids in Santa Rosa was a huge success. Christ Tabernacle would like to thank everyone who donated their time, money and resources to this great event. We sang songs, passed out bags of goodies, even made snow-cones for the kids! What a privilege it is to share the love of Jesus with our City as we minister to their needs.

HeartSpa 2008 ~ Women’s Retreat

Has your mind been running around a tired, worn out track? Is your heart bruised and hurting? Is your spirit in need of refreshing? If so, then you need a weekend at the HeartSpa. Come and be reminded how much your Savior loves you and desires to refresh, renew and revive each of His daughters.

cimg1318.jpgOur speaker for HeartSpa 2008 is Vicki Smith, who pastors with her husband Craig in Sacramento. You may remember Vicki from our Women’s Retreat in 2006, where she shared her personal story of struggle and triumph over abuse. The retreat resulted in significant victories in the healing that took place in the hearts of a  number of women who attended; women who had long struggled with their own difficult histories. We anticipate another Spirit-filled weekend under her ministry.

HeartSpa 2008

City Kids Festival

Christ Tabernacle is proud to be involved in the 2008 City Kids Festival in Santa Rosa.

On Saturday, August 23rd 2008 at Julliard Park, dozens of volunteers will help minister to the needy children of Santa Rosa as they prepare for the new school year.

ck_collage2.jpgWe’re expecting over 2,000 boys and girls this year, excited to enjoy a day of fun, games and inspiration. We will again have a giant book table, plus ever registered child will receive a backpack stuffed full of everything they need for school.

We encourage everyone to get involved with this great event, by donating your time and supplies to help needy children begin the school year well-prepared. Donations for City Kids can be dropped off at the Church or the Redwood Gospel Mission.

ck_nl1.jpgFor more information or to get involved, please contact Rodney Arnbrister at (707) 921-8015. More information can also be obtained by visiting the Redwood Gospel Mission website.

Let’s get involved and bless our community!

David J. Wheeler ~ 1930-2008

gpagmasmall.jpgWe were saddened to learn that David Wheeler, father of Debra Celovsky and former Pastor of Christ Tabernacle church, died on Wednesday, June 25th in Redding, CA.

David Wheeler designed and built our lovely facility, then called New Life Tabernacle, in 1980, and was the first pastor of the church facility on Fulton Road. After pastoring New Life Tabernacle for 10 years, he and his wife, Estene, moved to Redding, passing the leadership of the church to his son-in-law and daughter, Pastor Samuel & Debra Celovsky.

Guest Speaker ~ Livingstone Zitha

We’re pleased to have Pastor Livingstone Zitha ministering at Christ Tabernacle on Sunday, June 1st.

zitha.jpgAs the Pastor and Spiritual Leader of Bible Fellowship Church since it was organized in 2001 with an initial membership of 150, the community has witnessed the monumental growth of one of the fastest growing churches in Kwa-Thema, Gauteng, South Africa under Pastor Zitha’s leadership.

As an International Preacher, Teacher, and Speaker providing dynamic, energetic and anointed messages throughout North America, Europe and South Africa, (including invitation by Dr. Billy Graham to attend the Amsterdam 2000 Conference in the Netherlands), Pastor Zitha’s messages have resulted in God’s manifested presence, leading to transformed lives, physical and spiritual healing, and the salvation of lost souls.

For more information on Pastor Zitha and his ministry, visit his website at ZithaMinistries.org.

Join us in welcoming Pastor Livingstone Zitha and bring a friend to Christ Tabernacle!

We went home tired, sunburned and happy. Thanks to all who helped make the picnic another great success! Here are some pictures of this fun day!

Spring Clean 2008

“Serving Christ by Serving Others”

On May 3rd, 2008, Christ Tabernacle, along with dozens of churches and hundreds of volunteers, took part in the annual Sonoma County Spring Clean, and outreach to the community. On Saturday, Christ Tabernacle joined other churches to pull weeds, pick up trash, clean, sweep, scrub, paint, fix and build throughout the community. Check out our slideshow of this remarkable event!

30 Hour Famine

In April 2008, the Christ Tabernacle Youth Group took part in 30 Hour Famine, a national program that highlights the issues of hunger and poverty in our society. The group did a series of drive-by prayers, dropping off notes at people’s houses, then took part in a 30 hour fast, during which they stood at street corners and intersections holding signs asking for food. Finally, they broke fast by eating food served in garbage bags.

2008 Snow Trip!
