Meet Our Staff
Pastor Samuel & Debra Celovsky
In 1973, Samuel Celovsky, recently released from service in the Yugoslavian army, met Debra Wheeler, a California native serving with a missions team in Kaiserslautern, West Germany. Samuel had been raised in a strong Christian Slovak family in Serbia and knew God had called him into the ministry. They married two years later, worked in a small German church for two years, then moved to California.
Since 1990, they have pastored Christ Tabernacle in Santa Rosa which reflects their vision for a Spirit-filled, dynamic congregation where anyone who walks through the doors senses God’s love and the welcome of those who worship there. While raising their own children, Nicolas, and twins Aaron and Jessica, with a love for God and His people, they worked to foster a sense of spiritual family among the wonderful congregation that they lead. The result is a close knit fellowship with arms open wide.
Pastor Sam and Debra continue to keep a missions focus in the midst of Christ Tabernacle’s various ministries, and the church funds missions projects in such diverse countries as India, Serbia and Thailand.
Rodney & Kim came to Christ Tabernacle on Easter Sunday, 2001. Happily married for 9 years, they have an adorable 8 year-old son, Raven, who loves using his voice for the Lord.
Rodney & Kim currently serve as Directors of Youth Ministry at Christ Tabernacle, and are involved in the Children’s Ministry. They bring to the Youth Ministry a passion for seeing young people develop a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and to see the youth have a strong effect on their generation.
Ron and Tina joined Christ Tabernacle on Easter Sunday 2000. They’ve been married for 16 years and have 2 beautiful daughters; 8 year old Brooke and 15 year old Tandra, who is involved in the worship team Sunday School.
As a team, Ron and Tina have been intimately involved and creating and running the Christ Tabernacle Children’s Ministries department. Ron currently serves as a Deacon, Tina as Director of Women’s Ministries and teaches Sunday School. They both also enjoy singing in the Ensemble.
Ron and Tina have a heart for little ones and love raising their children in our church family. They also enjoy opening up their home for fellowship and leading small group studies as a couple.
Jason & Willow came to Christ Tabernacle in early 1998 as a young couple. They were saved, engaged and married here and today they serve the Lord with their 3 young sons Benjamin, Elijah and Micah. Jason has been involved in the Youth ministry and is now a Deacon and teacher, leading Bible Study at the church. Willow leads a home Bible Study directed towards moms and is intimately involved in the music and arts ministries at Christ Tabernacle.
Jason & Willow love serving the Lord together in a community of believers who have the same passion for family and fellowship.
Nicolas and Dana met as counselors at an Idaho Youth Camp in 2002 and were married June 2006. Both come from families steeped in the ministry, as both of their grandparents and parents have ministered at churches in Santa Rosa and Caldwell, Idaho.
Nicolas and Dana have a great passion for ministry in the Church. It is their desire to see God’s people develop and grow to their fullest potential and to use their gifts in service to the Church and community.
Nicolas is a Deacon and serves as the worship leader at Christ Tabernacle, while Dana is is the Director of Children’s Ministries and sings in the choral ensemble.
Ron & Pamela BryantRon and Pamela began attending Christ Tabernacle in January 2004. On June 27, 2004, they were married and baptized by Pastor Sam - both of which were life-changing events. Pam currently serves as Christ Tabernacle’s Secretary/Treasurer while Ron serves as a Trustee.
Ron and Pamela believe Pastor Sam is truly anointed to deliver the Gospel and that you will find a home filled with love and music here among the brothers and sisters at Christ Tabernacle. It is their desire that the church continue to grow and reach out with the wonderful Good News of our Savior Jesus Christ and to support more and more local and foreign missions to help those in need.
Rich Affonso Head Usher
Rich served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1984 and is an accomplished mechanic and woodsman. He came to Christ Tabernacle in 1995 and has been Head Usher since 1997.
Rich is usually the first face you’ll see when you enter the church. Whether it’s a greeting at the door, taking the offering or swapping stories after service, Rich takes special pride in making people feel welcome and at home.
Marsha Day Hostess
Marsha, mother of three beautiful children, Mitchel, 15, James, 7, and Allison, 6, settled here in Santa Rosa from Idaho in 2005. Marsha was baptized at Christ Tabernacle and loves her new family in Christ.
After completing a test to help discover her spiritual gifts, Marsha was delighted to find one of her gifts is hospitality. As Hostess at Christ Tabernacle, she enjoys greeting all who enter and looks forward to seeing you on Sunday!
