Take a beautiful day, several vans and cars full of kids and adults, and South Lake Tahoe’s Snow Park, and you’ve got he makings of the 2008 Christ Tabernacle Snow Day! We had a great time sledding, pelting each other with snow balls, and playing in the snow. Check out the slideshow for pictures of this great day!

What a tremendous Christmas season we’ve had! Christ Tabernacle is looking to move forward to a great New Year, filled with growth and serving God with more passion and devotion.

Starting Monday, January 14th, Christ Tabernacle will embark on a journey of 21 days of prayer and fasting. Pastor Celovsky’s message this Sunday will be on the spiritual power of fasting, and will offer a deeper understanding of God’s plan for fasting and the benefits available to those who participate.

Jesus Himself fasted because he knew that some supernatural realities could not be released in any other way. For that reason alone, we believe that Christians should make fasting a common practice.

We will be fasting for God to move in three specific areas:

1. RELEASE - for those being held captive by sin, addictions, depression and other forms of bondage (Isaiah 58:6)
2. RESTORATION - specifically in the areas of family, finances, relationships and health. (Joel 2:25)
3. REVIVAL - as we “humble [ourselves] and pray and seek his face.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

We hope you’ll come on this journey with us, as we seek the Lord through fasting and prayer. We believe God has a mighty plans for Christ Tabernacle, and we go forward with expectancy. Join us this Sunday for Pastor Sam’s sermon, “The Transforming Power of Prayer and Fasting!”

What a wonderful time we had at the Christ Tabernacle Christmas Service. From joyful choir songs to a rousing message from the Pastor and gifts for the kids, the church was full of love and laughter. See below for pictures and video of the service.

The 2007 Annual Talent Show at Christ Tabernacle was, by all accounts, a resonding success. 17 acts performed a variety talents from singing, playing music, wrestling and mixed martial-arts to poetry, spoken word and dance, the performers gave a real class act.

Our Thanksgiving Banquet was a terrific time of food and fun. The Sunday School played host to the church; delivering drinks, taking orders, and doing a fine job of entertaining the guests. Here are a few pictures of this fun event!

Christ Tabernacle’s annual Men’s retreat took place at Lake Sonoma, CA on August 10-12th, 2007. Pastor James Byrd spoke, and the guys had a terrific time on the mountain. Great food, fast boats and fellowship made this a Men’s Retreat to remember. Check out the video for more:

The 2007 Christ Tabernacle Women’s Retreat was a huge success! Held at St. Dorothy’s Rest in Camp Meeker on September 21-23, the retreat featured Guest Speaker Carol Hardwick from Christ Church in Nashville, TN. Watch the video below to get a taste of our wonderful weekend!
